About Me
I'm a life-long-learner who loves to explore how things work. You can often find me taking things apart just to see what goes on inside... and, as my wife can attest, once I engage in a project it's hard to pull me away until it's complete. This curiosity fuels my desire to create and build because it's so rewarding to view a finished product and say "I built that" or "I helped make that happen." Because of this desire I graduated in Manufacturing Engineering and right out of my undergrad went to work for Lockheed Martin for four years. I really enjoyed those who I worked with and am grateful for the skills and experience that I gained there.
Over the past few years I have reflected on where I want to take my career. I have taken time to explore some options and different routes. The route I am currently exploring is Digital Marketing and Web Development. During my undergrad I worked in Web Development and recall enjoying it because I could be a little more creative. So I returned to school (online) and completed a "Web Frontend" and "Web & Computer Prog" certificate from Brigham Young University - Idaho.
I achieved my goal and currently work for Utah Valley University (UVU) as a Web developer/Content Manager. I have enjoyed my time and have been able to use my creativity to help build a website for UVU's first comprehensive campaign. It has been challenging and fun to work with the Institutional Advancement team. Although I do like my current job which allows me to be more creative I do miss the engineering part of my career. In the future I hope to find a place where I can apply both.
Even though I do not know where my career will take me I am glad that I am trying new things, exploring my passions, setting goals, and fulfilling them. I know that when I put my mind to something I can accomplish my goals and aspirations.
